Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship 2018

Kanyashree Prakalpa (KP), introduced by Government of West Bengal in 2012 is a unique Conditional Cash Transfer scheme which targets adolescent girls aged 13-19 years and offers a two-tier scholarship of an annual Rs 500 for continuing education (K1) and a one-time payment of Rs 25,000 on completion of 18, conditional upon the girl remaining unmarried AND continuing education till that age (K2). The aim of this scheme is two-fold – to promote secondary education among females and to stop the marriage of girls before the official age of 18.

Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship 2018 – K1 Level

¤ Student’s age should be between 13 years to 19 years and read in class VIII / IX / XI / XII are under this scholarship level of K1.
¤ Earlier in Kanyashree Prakalpa Yojana, under K1 Level the girls get an annual scholarship of Rs.750 for continuing education.
¤ The benefits under the scheme will be granted to girls who belong to families with annual family income not more than Rs. 1, 20,000/- This bar for the family is not applicable if the girl has lost both parents or is physically challenged (40% disability) or an inmate of J.J Home.

Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship 2018 – K2 Level

¤ The student turned 18 years and below 19 years will be eligible for next stage of Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship Level of K2.
¤ Girls who go for higher studies having age above 18 were provided one time grant of Rs.25000 condition being they are unmarried in both cases.
¤ The benefits under the scheme will be granted to girls who belong to families with annual family income not more than Rs. 1, 20,000/- This bar for the family is not applicable if the girl has lost both parents or is physically challenged (40% disability) or an inmate of J.J Home.

Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship 2018 – K3 Level

¤ On July 28th, 2017 the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee announced that Kanyashree K3 also start for the girl students who are currently studying at any University. This scholarship will help the girl students in their Higher Studies. Kanyashree Prakalpa received the national and international recognition for its design governance features.
¤ Girls students, who are already registered for K2 scheme, are only eligible for K3 scheme. To apply Kanyashree K3 scheme, students have to passed Undergraduate degree with at least 45% marks and took admission on any Postgraduate course under any University.
¤ Under Kanyashree K3 scheme, Science stream students will receive Rs. 2500 per month and Arts stream students will receive Rs. 2000 per month. There is no any maximum age limit to apply for Kanyashree K3 Prakalpa.

♦ Candidates age should be between 13 years to 19 years for K1 & K2 Schme

♦ 75% attendance is mandatory to be eligible for this scholarship
♦ Both the benefits under the scheme are granted to the girls who belong to families with annual family income not more than Rs. 1,20,000.00. The bar of family income is not applicable to the girls who lost both parents, is physically challenged (40% disabled) or id an inmate of J.J. Home.

How To Apply For Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship 2018

The application forms are available at nearest secondary or higher secondary schools and J.J Homes (for inmates). Applicants need to submit the applications at the school or in case of inmates, to the superintendent.

♦ Declaration of both parents being deceased by guardian or applicant, if applicable (signed by appropriate authority)
